2011 To Do List
I have decided to document my goals / resolutions for 2011. This almost forces me to focus and reflect back on them later this year.
Personal:
- Lose Weight: I need to lose 8kgs and tone up.
Action Plan: I am going to see a dietician that a friend recommended, get a personal trainer and go to gym 4 times a week. I am also going to attend a yoga class once a week.
- Invest Time in Myself:
An hour in the morning to go to gym. Another hour to get ready: put make up on and do my hair. I also want two hours when I get home to cook supper, bath and follow a proper skin care routine.
Action Plan: Plan the time and put it in my diary, don’t double book myself and get my work hours to fix in between my life.
- Treat myself: A facial, full body massage and pedicure every month.
Action Plan: Book it well in advance and put it in the diary + budget.
Business:
- GirlGuides.co.za
Take girlguides.co.za to the next level.
- Launching my other two business ideas.
*watch this space, I want to get back into retail*
- Start mentoring / helping with other people’s business ideas:
I am going to start with one hour a week free of charge for my time to help with business idea and planning etc to anyone that once help. So if you need help or an hour to just run things past someone I am your gal, email me, DM me and I will book you in the diary.
Social:
- Spend Time / Keep in Touch with Friends more:
Blocking out an hour each week to just send a short note to friends I miss, or having lunch / dinner with a friend each week.
- Blog more:
I love my blog, but I don’t have time to blog (or I don’t make time to blog or read enough for other blogger’s posts). I am putting aside time to read, write and comment at least three times a week.
- Meet more people off twitter:
I have met the most amazing people and have a whole new social circle from twitter. I am making a point of attending more tweetups and meeting more people from twitter.
I am hoping for two major items on my to-do list to be ticked off in the next three months this will really allow me to move forward with some new stuff that I want to complete.
Here is to 2011 being an awesome year!
2010 in Review
I am such a looker-forwarder that I hardly ever take the time to just – stop, look back and be grateful for what I have, achieved and been blessed with.
So I have decided to do a recap of the things I am grateful for in 2010:
- 2010 was *so* much better than 2009. I am happy and my life is not filled with a dark cloud anymore.
- I am in an amazing relationship with an awesome boyfriend who adores me and is definitely the love of my life.
- I am blessed with a fantastic consulting job.
- I bought myself a BMW and paid it off (a car I have always wanted).
- We moved into a nice bigger home and I am almost finished – redecorating it.
- Launched www.girlguides.co.za
- I gave up smoking.
- I meet some amazing people through twitter.
- I am happy.
I am looking forward to 2011, I know it is going to provide closure on a few issues still outstanding and be filled with new exciting happy moments.
Why I am giving up my BlackBerry for an iPhone
When I get back to SA I am upgrading to an iPhone…immediately and I will struggle through learning how to use a touch screen (which my BB Torch has kind of trained me for already).
I am a die hard BlackBerry addict, and after arriving back from Fiji I can not get my roaming BlackBerry service to work – which means that basically my BlackBerry is useless.
In the middle of all the flood drama here (Brisbane Australia) I am not sure if there is something wrong with the BIS service or if there is something wrong with my roaming BUT I am sure that I need my phone to work for data far more than voice! SO being reliant on a server that might go down when you need your phone the most is definitely not a solution and something you want to be stuck with.
As I sit next to the three other iPhone users in the house, I am the only “dork” who has to be connected to use wifi to use my phone! And its no fun being laughed at by Apple users…
Oh and the iPhone has cool applications as well..
Congrats to My Bestest!
Its official, my bestest friend Candz – IS ENGAGED! (Thanks so much for leaving me as the last single gal! )
The good news is:
1. She is engaged to such a divine guy (Mark) – he is definitely one of the good guys!
2. I get to be a bride’s maid…and throw the best hen’s party ever!
Congrats you two, may your years ahead be filled with love, health, wealth and happiness… X0X0
*They got engaged in Egypt on the Nile on Christmas Eve, how romatical?!
Sydney for New Years…
After it rained for the first week of our holiday in Brisbane, I got ants in my pants and decided I needed to see 2011 in with something special…..
So New Years Eve in Sydney it was, after a sweet fortune billed to my credit card we were off to Sydney for four days.
New Years Eve in Sydney was absolutely amazing, definitely a breath taking experience….
@za5 and I jammed as much as we could into our 4 days…
- Boat trip out to Watson Bay for fish and chips on the beach…
- The Sydney Tower, 250m above the earth to get a 360 degree view of Sydney.
- NYE (day and night) overlooking the Sydney Opera House and bridge.
- First Emperor Exhibition – incredible life-size terracotta warriors from China.
- Annie Leibovitz Exhibition – soul inspiring, emotion provoking and truly moving photographs.
Some of the beautiful pictures taken by @za5 (follow him for regular picture updates on twitter)…..
